pacific rim physiotherapy port alberni
pysiotherapy association of british columbia

As we are into stage 2 of the Covid19 pandemic, our clinic has gradually re-opened on June 1st, 2020. We are very much looking forward to resuming your physiotherapy appointments, and are reaching out to you to complete your course of therapy. If you have not yet heard from us, please give us a call at 250-723-5333. This information applies to our Port Alberni clinic and to our satellite clinic in Qualicum.

Important notice to our patients and clients: Our Port Alberni location for Pacific Rim Physiotherapy Clinic has closed for repairs and restoration following a water escape in our clinic. We are making plans for an alternate Port Alberni location for our patients as soon as possible. Lynn has a secondary clinic location in Qualicum Beach. The address is Unit 102 -166 First Avenue, Qualicum Beach, B.C. V9K 1G9 This clinic has a street level entrance. There is street parking, as well as a parking lot located behind the building. I welcome all current and future patients to continue to contact the clinic through our website:; by email at; and by phone: 250-731-4085.

Our clinic has implemented the required health and safety measures for community health care practises with respect to Covid19, including: physical distancing when feasible, limiting number of persons within our premises, reducing the use of our waiting and reception area, installing plexi-glass at our entrance, staggering appointment times, and providing hand sanitation as you enter and leave. Our cleaning and disinfection of all therapy spaces utilises products and practises recommended to us by the BC Centre for Disease Control.

As in-person physiotherapy care cannot always maintain a 6 foot distance between patient and therapist, we will ask you to bring, and wear your own mask (cloth, or medical mask) to all appointments or to allow us to provide you with one. Your physiotherapist will wear a mask at all times. This is to prevent potential transmission of covid19, or other respiratory illnesses. Your therapist will wear gloves during your appointment if manual contact with you is required.

Please do not wear gloves to your appointment.

We will screen you before your appointment to ask you to postpone your appointment, seek medical assessment, and self-isolate if you have travelled, been ill, currently have signs or symptoms of illness, or have been in close contact with anyone else who is ill with Covid19.

If any of our staff become ill, have symptoms of illness, need to travel out of the province, or are in contact with any person ill with covid 19, we will not come to the clinic and will self -isolate.

Our clinic cannot resume yoga classes in the clinic currently, due to space limitations that do not allow for safe physical distancing. We are also unable to accommodate “drop in “ exercising in our gym.

We will continue to offer the option of virtual physiotherapy care by telephone, email and videoconference when appropriate as a safe and convenient alternative for in-person care. Extended health insurer companies do cover this form of physiotherapy.

In order to facilitate physical distancing, our reception is not open for drop-in visits. Please contact us by telephone at
250-723-5333, or through our website :

Our physiotherapy practise is guided by the BC Ministry of Health, the Provincial Health Officer, the BC Centre for Disease Control, WorkSafe BC, the College of Physical Therapists of BC, the Physiotherapy Association of BC, and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in implementing a return to safe practise in this time of Covid 19 pandemic.
